Deer in the Spotlight Productions is a small theatrical production company based just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. Its members have a collective 60 years of stage production and performing arts experience and aim to bring constant professionalism, quality, and reliability to the shows they produce.
Bob Denton has had nearly 30 years of stage experience: first as an actor, and then as a professional technical director, scenic designer, and projection designer specializing in visual arts. He has designed and worked on a number of shows including Carrie, Evil Dead: The Musical, American Idiot, CATS, The Little Mermaid, Deathtrap, as well as the only community theatre production of Sondheim on Sondheim. He was contracted to design and construct the set for Booty Candy, the official theatrical production of Baltimore Pride 2017. He is also a playwright and director, having written and directed an original adaptation of George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, which debuted in Cecil County in 2014. He is the winner of multiple Broadway World Baltimore awards for stage design and tech.
Bambi Johnson is a director, lifelong choreographer, dancer, and designer. Her career in performance theatre production in Baltimore spans over 30 years. Her directing credits include a number of Disney shows such as Tarzan and The Little Mermaid as well as other dance-heavy performances: CATS, Bring It On!, Mary Poppins, Rent, Harriet’s Happiest Halloween, and many others. She is a regular producer in the Baltimore, Harford, and Cecil County areas of Maryland. Theatre has always been a part of her professional life, and when she’s not directing or choreographing, she teaches students dance and inspires a passion for performance in young actors.
